Sink Series: Poem 2
A tear slowly drew along my cheek
The sun glistened brightly through my curls
which became gentler and soft, day by day
The whites on the tips of my fingers
Melded with the open paper that I had long held
I heard my heart beat with the calm of stillness
In mid morning, it was a new day
Like a soft stream and the smell of pine
The world flooded into my window with ease
The sounds of birds chatting
I healed beside the sky
In the corner I nestled my fragile body
Where my heart lay cracked and bare
White, blush, and cream
Flowers bloom where I remain planted
The soil around me felt so much richer
And as the noise became numb, I was okay
Alone and content, okay in my warm state
I felt the tenderness of life wrap around me
The world outside began to glow
Time was only a measurement on a glass face
I sank deeper into the untainted clouds
My eyes clear, glimmered bright blue once more
