Bloom Series: Poem 1
It grew like a wildflower in a glass case
Beautiful and marvelous
She watched the passers-by who awed
Then changed as the seasons came and went
In the light, she grew dark
the case confining her from full bloom
the sunlight made her shimmer and shine
her roots grew short and dry
There were hours where she sparked another look
Waiting for a passer-by to help her grow tall
Each taking a petal of her beauty
Her vibrancy spread long and wide
But as dusk approached in the sky
Her hope for a new leaf fell fast
The memories of the brightness she used to hold
Just memories to even those who felt her fire
Time had created and torn a precious flower
She waved and withered int he wind
And when the sun came up and winter left her bare
She smiled knowing she could be just another seedling
